Understanding BPC-157

Explore the science, research focus, and key information behind this compound.

What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide commonly examined in laboratory models involving tissue response, cellular signalling, and repair pathways. Its compact 15-amino-acid structure makes BPC-157 a focused option for controlled cellular and tissue-response models.

What Researchers Study

Researchers may study cell migration, viability, or matrix-response endpoints with a defined vehicle control and a clearly identified peptide sequence. They may also in tissue models, distinguish structural repair measurements from inflammation, blood-flow, or behavioural outcomes. They may also use BPC-157 as a preclinical research question—not as a reference standard for a clinically proven recovery effect.

How BPC-157 Works

Published experiments report changes across several signalling systems rather than one settled receptor mechanism. In plain language, researchers see signals worth testing, but there is not yet a single validated human explanation for the wide range of recovery claims attached to BPC-157. BPC-157 is not approved for human use. Controlled human efficacy evidence is lacking, and cell or animal findings should not be rewritten as established healing, pain, gut, or performance benefits in people.

Research at a Glance

Cell outgrowth and migration signals were reported. A 2011 study reported increased tendon-fibroblast outgrowth, survival, and migration in cell and rat-tendon models. It is useful mechanistic evidence, but it is not a controlled human healing trial. Read the primary tendon study. The popular claims run ahead of the human data. Most frequently repeated claims combine results from different tissues, species, injury models, and endpoints. Those findings cannot be pooled into a general statement that BPC-157 repairs injuries in people. Name the model and endpoint. A useful page or protocol says tendon-cell migration, gastric-lesion score, vascular marker, or another specific endpoint. “Recovery” alone is too broad to describe what was actually measured.

Preparation guide

Calculate. Prepare. Store.

Plan the concentration and measurement volume before adding water, then follow the preparation and storage steps.

Step 1: Calculate

Confirm the vial strength and planned water volume before adding water.

Measurement volumeEnter a target amount
Concentration5 mg/mL

For laboratory calculation only. Confirm the vial label and research protocol before preparation.

Step 2: Prepare

Most lyophilized vials are prepared with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, unless otherwise stated on the product page or vial label.

After confirming the calculation, slowly add the planned water volume down the inside wall of the vial.

Do not shake the vialLyophilized peptides can be sensitive to vigorous agitation. Gently swirl until fully dissolved.

Step 3: Store

Frequently asked questions

Everything worth knowing before you order.

Product, documentation, shipping and support answers—without making you hunt through the site.

Are your peptides made in Canada?

Yes. Puffin Peptides sources its research peptides from Canada’s largest premium peptide manufacturer, then labels, packages, and ships them from Canada. Product and batch information remains tied to each vial.

Are your products intended for human consumption?

No. All Puffin Peptides products are supplied strictly for laboratory research and analytical use. They are not for human or veterinary consumption and are not represented as medicines, treatments, supplements, or substitutes for approved products.

Do you provide batch-specific documentation?

Yes. Batch-specific documentation is published for the applicable product strength and lot when available. Open Batch details on the product page; if a document has not yet been published, contact support with the product name, strength, and lot number.

What is a lyophilized peptide?

A lyophilized peptide is a peptide that has been freeze-dried into a powder by removing water under controlled low-temperature and vacuum conditions. This format supports stability during storage and allows the material to be prepared according to the product label and research protocol.

How should peptides be stored?

Always follow the storage instructions for the exact product and lot. Unless otherwise stated, keep unprepared lyophilized vials cool and dry, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Refrigerate prepared vials at 2–8°C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Do all peptides use the same preparation method?

No. The correct diluent, volume, and preparation method can vary by product. Most Puffin lyophilized vials use 2 mL of bacteriostatic water unless the product page or vial label says otherwise. Add liquid slowly down the inside wall, gently swirl, and never shake the vial.

How do I use the peptide calculator?

Select the vial strength, enter the planned water volume, and add a target amount if you want a measurement-volume result. The calculator displays the resulting concentration and measurement for laboratory planning only. Confirm the vial label and research protocol before preparation.

What payment methods do you accept?

Puffin Peptides accepts Visa, Mastercard, Interac, and Visa Debit. Available payment methods are shown at checkout before payment is submitted. Puffin Peptides does not collect payment details by email or through customer-support messages.

Is payment processed securely?

Payment is handled through the secure payment provider displayed at checkout. Puffin Peptides does not store complete payment-card details and will never ask you to send them by email or through a support message.

Are prices listed in CAD?

Yes. Product prices, order subtotals, discounts, and free-shipping thresholds are shown in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes and any delivery charges appear in the order summary before completion.

How are orders shipped?

In-stock orders are checked, protected, and packed within 24 hours, then shipped across Canada with Canada Post. Product-specific handling requirements are followed during fulfilment.

Do you offer tracking?

Yes. Canada Post tracking is provided after the parcel receives its first carrier scan. Use the tracking link in the shipping section or the link provided with your order to follow the parcel to delivery.

How long does shipping take?

In-stock orders are picked, packed, and shipped within 24 hours. Delivery time varies by destination, Canada Post service, weather, and other carrier conditions; the tracking page provides the most current delivery estimate after the first scan.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Standard tracked Canada Post delivery is complimentary when the discounted order subtotal reaches $250 CAD before tax. Any remote-area surcharge or service exclusion is shown before order completion.

What is your return or replacement policy?

Because research products require controlled handling, return eligibility depends on the item and whether it can safely re-enter inventory. Contact support within 48 hours for an incorrect, incomplete, or damaged order. Confirmed issues are reviewed for replacement, store credit, or refund.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

Contact support within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the shipping parcel, packaging, and affected vial. Keep all packaging until the review is complete. Verified transit damage is assessed for replacement, store credit, or refund.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact support as soon as possible. An order can be changed or cancelled only before packing and fulfilment begin, so requests cannot be guaranteed once the order is being prepared or has shipped.
